Morale

He was very proud of his sand castles.

He was a stranger to me. I was walking past him on a beach of Lake Erie and I asked him if I could take his picture. The girl in the background is laughing. I don't know if she is related to him or not. He was so proud of his work as he had every right to be. I hope that I boosted his morale.

We've all been there. Somebody says something that sends our morale plummeting. Down to the depths of hell. Not much can help after we have been stung like that. It happened today. Not to me. To a co-worker (friend). He had a serious heart attack around the New Year. He returned to work in April.

The work space may be the hardest place to learn to be a sieve and not a sponge, because so much rides on it. But geez, if you can learn there, it would be twice as easy in every other area of life.

I like that! Learn to be a sieve and not a sponge. Good advice.
