Talk to the hand

So, it's like this y'see? I'm a-tellin' 'em you gots to do it this a-way. See? An' then when that's done, y'uns gots to go here, see?

Looks like she is going to talk witha her hands. See?

I want enough icy weather tomorrow to close the schools, but not icy enough to make it dangerous for nervous drivers out there. I remember driving on ice. Wow. Years ago. When the rain comes down and freezes so fast you don't have time to plan. That was before the weather channel. Mostly even before weather warnings and such. You just got in your car and took the chance. I always lived so far out in the country my drive was usually forty to fifty minutes to work. The ice was the trickiest.

I get a catalog today (well, I get quite a few of them almost every day around this season). It is from amazon.com. There is a software package that I want in there and it is on sale. I go to the web site to order it. The web site has it posted for more than the catalog ad. I look closely at the ad and read the fine print on the back. Prices good through December 12th. WTF? It's the 14th and I am just now getting the catalog. I just read the top - it reads HURRY, Sale ends December 12, 2005. Thanks for nothing Postal service!

My sister (who works at the Post office, but not in my town) was telling me that the Post office is cutting her hours yet again. Mail is not getting out on time. Credit card payments, first class stuff. She says they just aren't getting it. There is mail piling up but she is getting cut. I wanted to pay my bills through the post office so I can keep some family members in business, but if my payments aren't getting to their destination on time and crap like this - then I am switching to on-line paying. I have had pretty good luck with their service, but if I have to mail things out ten days early - you can think again.

Awwwwww...she is such a cutie.

I could tell you ice stories that would make your hair fall out. So glad I don't have to drive in it anymore.

I have been paying my bills on-line for the past 2 months. I used to pay my bills as soon as I got them 'cause I know how slow they are with postal service.

I was trying to help my sister (who works with the Post office) and my brother (who is retired), but things may change here pretty soon.

Strange as it is, I kind of like the act of writing checks and paying bills.
