Getting pulled over

There was no doubt this little tyke was the hit of the party Saturday evening. I need to get a shot of him in his duds. His mother dressed him up in a little golfer outfit. The dinner was at a restaurant at a Golf Course. Huh. Not a one of us golf. One nephew used to. Eh...

We had a great time. We were loud. There were 17 of us and two children. There was plenty of drinking. The drivers did not imbibe or only drank a couple. Such as I. One beer and I was like - give me ice water from now, on. I did taste my daughter's drink. Grey goose and vodka. Uh, no thanks! Yech!

On the way home I was to drop sister 1954 off at a bar and my daughter was anxious to get back - she had plans to go out and meet friends. We were chatting. At one time I looked at my speedometer and thought, "Oh, I am such a granny driver."  I thought perhaps my daughter would say something eventually. I really have slowed down even more since hitting the deer in 2009. Everything I see alongside the road is a potential deer.

So, I was very surprised when I was the one pulled over. I saw his lights in my rear view mirror. I pulled over immediately and glanced at the tail lights of the car in front of me. My first thought was 'I wonder what the guy in front of me did.' My second thought was 'I wonder what is going on that he (the patrolman) has to rush lights flashing.'

I giggled and said 'He is after ME!"  Like I was some giggly girl in high school and just found out a boy liked me. Good gawd!

He said I was doing "65" in a "55" zone. I said "Sorry, we were probably chatting and I didn't realize."  I could find my drivers license. I found an old registration but could not find proof of insurance to save my life. He said given the state of my car he was certain that I had insurance and let me go with a written warning.

Both my sister and daughter said there was no way it was ME doing 65. The more I thought about it the more I realized that they were right. I am a granny driver. I don't even go the speed limit. My daughter said he must have "clipped" the guy in front of us. Things were not so funny, then. What if he had given me a ticket? What are they now $120. Ten dollars for every mile over the speed limit? $100? I would have been pissed.

I had not been passed. In fact, I recall somebody pulling out in front of me shortly before the straight stretch. Ah, well. I did NOT get a ticket, but it un-nerves me to think that I can get a ticket because they "clipped" someone else.

And for ONCE sister 1954 did not have a beer with her in the car. She manages to sneak one in her purse from the bar almost every time.

I dreamt that the same guy pulled me over again. I killed him - with a machete knife and I was trying to get rid of his head.  OMG! WTH?! WTF?!  How angry WAS I?

Mmmm...watermelon

I'll have some of that!

Sister 1944's 2nd grandson.

I dreamt last night that she and I were riding in a car. She was driving (steering wheel was on the right side of the car. What is up with that?). I was in the back seat. We were driving an old dirt road because of a detour. We saw a mama black bear with her cubs. One bear jumped in the backseat with me through an open window and another jumped in the front seat with my sister.  They were not cubs any longer but they were small in size. They did not get fierce, but I knew that we needed to get them out. I grabbed a sweater laying on the seat and opened a car door and wrapped the head of the bear with me in the sweater and pushed him out the door. Then I opened the front door of the car and did the same to the bear in the front seat. My sister drove on. Then we found a restaurant that we used to go to but it had moved. It was called "Sisters". Weird.

A little self analysis here. I was the first one at the hospital when my sister had her accident. This sister is sixteen years older than I am. She was always like a Mother figure to me. She was so frightened when I got to the ER. I immediately went into protective mode. I stayed with her and took care of what I could for over 8 hours. I called the insurance company. I drove her home. (Her son drove her husband to get a spare car). I brought them food. I made certain she was comfortable. Her husband filled her prescriptions. She took care of me as a mother would most of my childhood.

The bear or bears represent danger to my sister. She was always there to protect our family. She paid it forward many times back in the 60's and 70's.

Dreams

Playing with the lights. We watched "Inception" last week.Strange. It was well acted and well played, I liked the characters, but I want a movie that makes me laugh these days. It kind of reminded me of DiCaprio's movie "Shutter Island".  Must be his thing these days.

Number Three

Another shot of the daisy at the lake.

The earlier post - asking you to guess which story was the dream? It was number three. The only story that didn't involve me personally. All the others I lived for real that week. The worst was the gas smell and driving up that hill when I could not see.

Speaking of dreams, I dreamed about a computer monitor flaking out on me and my car windshield shattering. Weird.
